Still No Word From The Supreme Court On Gay Marriage
The Supreme Court is still at a stand still when it comes to gay marriage.
The highest court has yet to confirm whether or not it will tackle Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), a national law that prevents same-sex married couples from receiving certain federal benefits. The nine Supreme justices met on Friday to review how it should handle appeal cases that call for a reform to DOMA and California’s gay ban which is known as Proposition 8. However, on Monday, the court failed to mention any of the same-sex marriage cases in an “orders list” and has listed those cases to be reviewed this Friday at its weekly conference.
We’ll just have to wait and see how the Supreme Court will rule on marriage equality!
