Texas Father Poses As Gunman To Test School Security Parents Think Its A good Idea
Texas father, Ronald Miller, was arrested last week Wednesday for showing up to his child’s elementary school and conducting his own safety drill.
As schoolchildren arrived at Celina Elementary School early Wednesday morning, Miller reportedly told a greeter that he was armed (he wasn’t) and said “You’re dead.” Miller then revealed that he was just testing the school’s security and requested he speak with the principal. After Miller left the scene, school officials called police. Miller was charged with third-degree felony terrorist threats.
Huffington Post reported that parents did not take Miller’s stunt as harshly as others:
Parents at Celina Elementary School, however, weren’t so quick to demonize Miller for the alleged act. David Siano told NBC-DFW that the school needs to review its security measures.”We are not prepared,” Siano said. “His intent was just simply to say, ‘you’ve done nothing’ and that’s what it showed… So if that’s what it takes, it’s a shame.”
Did this concerned father take things too far? Or was his act justified by the apparent public shooting crisis including but not limed to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting that took place on Dec 14. 2012?
