Beyonce Lip Synced At Obama’s Inauguration Or Did She?
In a day that was filled with celebration for President Obama’s second-term Inauguration, R&B/pop superstar Beyonce nearly stole the show with her breathtaking rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Her performance was so good that viewers were tweeting about it for hours. After such a great response it was a bit of a surprise to many when it was being reported that the superstar may have lip-synced during the performance.
According to MSN.com,
A spokeswoman for the U.S. Marine Band told news outlets that Beyoncé had lip-synced at President Barack Obama’s inauguration. Master Sgt. Kristin duBois said the band was notified at the last minute that Beyoncé would use a pre-recorded voice track.
When news of this leaked, the twittersphere blew up with instant reaction to the news that the singer may have not been actually singing during the ceremony. Later on Tuesday, the same spokesperson seemed to be backtracking from the earlier comments:
“Regarding Ms. Knowles-Carter’s vocal performance,” Wolf’s statement continued, “no one in the Marine Band is in a position to assess whether it was live or pre-recorded.”
