Beyonce Tells Vogue She Wants More Kids And Calls Blue Ivy Her “Best Friend”
Superstar diva Beyonce opened up in a recent interview with Vogue about her pride and joy, her daughter Blue Ivy Carter. In an 8-page spread, the usually private singer/actress revealed some of her most intimate details about her now one year old daughter and her pregnancy including the “connection” she felt with her child as she was giving birth.
“I felt very maternal around eight months,” recalled the “Single Ladies” singer. “And I thought I couldn’t become any more until I saw the baby. . . . But it happened during my labor because I had a very strong connection with my child. I felt like when I was having contractions, I envisioned my child pushing through a very heavy door. And I imagined this tiny infant doing all the work, so I couldn’t think about my own pain. . . . We were talking. I know it sounds crazy, but I felt a communication.”
She says that she plans for Blue Ivy to have some type of normalcy in her life, despite growing up with two outrageously successful entertainers as parents.
“At some point it’s very important to me that my daughter is able to experience life and run through the sprinklers and have slumber parties and trust and live and do all the things that any child should be able to do,” Beyoncé told Vogue.
The mutli-platinum selling artist says Blue Ivy is her “homey, she’s my best friend” and told the magazine that she definitely wants more children sometime in the future.
“When I was younger, there were moments where I said, ‘I’m not going to have children,” Beyoncé said. “And then moments when I wanted four. And now I definitely want another, but I don’t know when.”
Later this month, Bey will release her upcoming HBO documentary, “Life is But a Dream,” as well as sit down with Oprah Winfrey on “Oprah’s Next Chapter” on OWN on Sunday, February 16.
