Father Accepts Plea Deal For Waterboarding Four Children
A Montana father pled guilty to waterboarding his two children, ages 9 and 12, as well as his neighbor’s children, ages 13 and 15, according to MSN news. His reasoning? It was a learning experience for the kids.
Not including the 80 days he already spent in jail, MSN reported the man’s punishment is as follows:
“In keeping with the plea agreement, District Judge James B. Wheelis sentenced the man to 180 days in jail for each charge, all suspended. That amounts to two years of probation, minus the 80 days he has already spent in custody, the Independent Record reported.”
If you’re unfamiliar with waterboarding, it’s a form of torture that was frequently used in aggressive interrogations and is associated with the CIA and the “war on terror.” To execute waterboarding, the subject is strapped to a board with some type of fabric covering his nose and mouth; then, water is poured over the subject’s face to “simulate drowning.”
The man allegedly broke his former girlfriend’s wrist when she tried to stop him from waterboarding his children. In addition, while investigating, authorities found a ton of rifles and ammunition “that may have belonged to the man,” CBS reported.
