President Obama Gives The “Kid President” A Tour Of The Oval Office (VIDEO)
What were you doing at nine-years-old? I’ll take a wild guess and bet that weren’t hanging out with the President of the United States in the Oval Office.
As unreal as that scenario may sound, that was a dream come true for Robby Novak, aka the self appointed “Kid President.” Novak, a native of Tennessee, became a national YouTube sensation after his videos were picked up by comedian Rainn Wilson’s Soul Pancake website. He was also featured in a White House April Fool’s Day joke this year that tricked people into thinking that President Obama was going to make a special announcement. Instead, the “Kid President” appeared at a podium inside of the press briefing room. “It looks like you were expecting somebody else,” said the charismatic third grader in the video. On Thursday, Soul Pancake released a video featuring both the “Kid President” and Obama in their first face-to-face meeting.
“I think you should try to sit behind the desk so you look a little more efficient,” President Obama said Novak.
When the “Kid President” sat at the Resolute desk and picked up the phone, President Obama warned, “Let’s make sure not to cause an international incident.”
The president also joke with the young boy about managing his time between grade school and his executive duties.
“I know you have all these other activities, so much demands on your time trying to balance being president and being in the third grade,” quipped Obama. “That’s a lot of stuff. But you seem to be handling it pretty well.”
Novak returned the praise when Obama asked him for a piece of advice.
“I have one, but it’s not really advice, but it’s how you’re doing. You’re doing awesome!” said the Kid President.
