Husband Kills Wife Out Of Fear That He Gave Her HIV
An Arizona man named Eugene Maraventano allegedly killed his wife because he had been sleeping with prostitutes in New York and feared he had passed on HIV to her.
After he stabbed his wife to death, Maraventano murdered his son. He told officers that his wife had been sick, and that he killed his son because he was worried be might be disabled–Maraventano believed playing video games all the time and not having a girlfriend was a sign of his disability, according to UPI.
The medical examiner determined that the bodies had been dead a couple of days before Maraventano decided to call 911, UPI reported.
According to UPI,
Court documents indicate Maraventano attacked his wife with a kitchen knife as she was sleeping. He confessed to having considered buying a gun to kill her, but decided not to because “[he’s’] not a violent person.”
Maraventano is facing two counts of first-degree murder.
